India Camp: First injury worries on day two

The India preparations for the Asian Round 2 qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup against the United Arab Emirates has suffered its first injury casualties only two days into the probables camp. It seems like injuries will continue to be part of Team India preparations.

While the injuries to defender Denzil Franco, winger Clifford Miranda and striker P.K. Anil Kumar are small niggles and they would be back in training soon, the situation surrounding East Bengal defender Gurwinder Singh looks to be more serious as he could be out for around three weeks with an ankle injury, which would mean he would not make it until the UAE matches.

Not all players have yet arrived at the camp with five players set to join the camp today, amongst them Gouramangi Singh, Rocus Lamare and other boys from the Northeast. Further boys from probables list are away on duty for the Under-23s in Qatar and would only join once their Olympic qualifiers are over.

In total Armando Colaco had called up 42 players with Mohun Bagan's Nalappan Mohanraj having to opt out due to an injury, while the coach later on called-up Baljit Singh Sahni (East Bengal Club) and Lalkamal Bhowmick (Chirag United SC) for the camp.
