Domenech: A bunch of brats

Former France coach Raymond Domenech is a man whom not many seem to understand. And in the latest episode of things not needed from him he has given an interview with French paper L'Express to give his side of the story surrounding the strike by the players during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

It seems that he once more wants to make the point, I actually wasn't really at fault but the players caused all the problems.

Domenech said, "At the time I couldn't see it. Each time I looked back towards the team bus, I saw nothing, no one. At that time I thought they had gone mad, that they had no idea what they were doing. Now I know that I was wrong - they knew exactly what they were doing. They shut the curtains at the same time to keep out the cameras. With hindsight, I see them all as a group of spoilt, thoughtless brats."

In the interview Domenech did concede that he had made mistakes in selection and judgement, which he had denied in the past. Domenech coached the L'Equipe Tricolore for six years but he's rated as being the most hated French national team coach ever. Many say he should have resigned after the 2006 FIFA World Cup where an ageing Zinedine Zidane took the team to the final, which lead to Domenech continuing against the general public opinion.

Now Domenech is suing the French FF for unfair dismissal after the 2010 FIFA World Cup and is being linked with the national teams of numerous countries.
