The world football governing body released the latest FIFA World Rankings earlier today in which India remain 162nd amongst the 208 ranked nations and territories, while within Asia India remain 29th amongst 46 nations in the rankings.
India is 162nd behind Fiji and ahead of Guinea-Bissau with 131 points, 12 more then last month. The points came from the title defence of the SAFF Cup but due to the loss of earlier points India couldn't make any progress in the rankings.
India's next assignment will be the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal from March 8 to 19, 2012. There India could get some useful points to move-up the FIFA World Rankings.
Meanwhile there has been no change amongst the top five of the FIFA World Rankings. World champions Spain (1,564 points) stay at the top with the Netherlands (1,365), Germany (1,345), Uruguay (1,308) and England (1,173) behind them.
