FCB Allstars: Kolkata we are here!

We all linked-up at the Lufthansa Lounge at Frankfurt Rhein-Main as not all were coming from Munich. We had a short team meeting there and then off to Kolkata. Some already had questions for me as all looked forward to the trip and getting to see a new country. After a nearly nine hour flight from Frankfurt to Kolkata on LH750 in an Airbus A330-300 named 'Landshut' the FC Bayern Munich Allstars arrived in Kolkata in the early hours of Tuesday just after 01.00 IST.

Luckily there was not too much fanfare at the Dum Dum airport as everyone was tired after the long flight and for us coming out of Germany it was quite hot even at this time of night. We were welcomed by the tour organisers the "Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management" and Audi India, one of Bayern Munich's premier sponsors and also a stake holder in the German club. The Germans (including a Brazilian, Austrian & Swiss) got a traditional Indian welcome with a garland and shawl. Into the special bus, which Audi has organised in Bayern Munich red which also says for the FCB Allstars. I need to get a pic of this across to you guys!

Then we arrived at the ITC Sonar, our team hotel for two days and then it all starts later in the day with press conference, then a visit to the Kolkata Police, a kids clinic at the Calcutta Cricket & Football Club and then an official state dinner.

So off to sleep now...
