When one talks about young German talent at the moment then there is talk about Real Madrid's Mesut Özil, Borussia Dortmund teenage sensation Mario Götze or Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos. A player who is well known within Germany, but less outside the country is Borussia Mönchengladbach's attacking player Marco Reus.
And the 22 year old is having a great season so far just like his club, who haven't had such a strong start in the Bundesliga in years. Reus is one of the reasons for Gladbach's rise from a club who just about remained in the Bundesliga by winning the relegation clash against VfL Bochum.
But with success comes interest in the clubs top players and Reus tops that list. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have openly said that they would like to see Reus in a Bayern shirt in the coming season, which Gladbach manager Max Eberl has put into the world of dreams as Reus has a contract until 2015. But Eberl, himself a former Bayern Munich player, knows the might of the Bavarian club and what the right transfer fee can do.
But Reus' game has not only attracted interest from within the Bundesliga but from other top European clubs as well. He is being tracked by EPL biggies Manchester City and Arsenal, Italian Serie A clubs Juventus and Inter Milan besides other clubs who send scouts and observers to watch the player regularly.
So far all this has not distracted Reus, who last weekend scored two goals against Hanover 96 and said afterwards he sees his immediate future in Gladbach. But as one knows in football things can change very fast.
