Red Bull Street Style - India: Pradeep Ramesh champion!

The Indian-leg of the 2012 edition of the Red Bull Street Style was held in recent weeks with five city qualifiers in Pune (May 25), New Delhi (May 26), Mumbai (June 1), Hyderabad (June 2) and Kolkata (June 8) with the Indian National finals held on Saturday, June 9 in Kolkata to decide the Indian representative in the world finals.

Indian international goalkeeper Subrata Pal and former Maidan star Jamshed Nasiri were two of the three judges that decided that 22 year old Pradeep Ramesh from Chennai was to become the Freestyle Football Champion of India and represent the country at the world finals of the Red Bull Street Style in Italy this September.

After graduating from Hindu Senior Secondary School in Adyar, Indira Nagar, Pradeep had a passion for football skills and tricks that led him to discover the world of freestyle football. His own personal dedication, self-belief and training along with some big support from family and friends, allowed him to continue chasing his dream of becoming a professional freestyle footballer.

Freestyle football is the art and sport of juggling a football using all parts of the body to entertain audiences and outperform opponents. Over the course of the past few months, Red Bull has held their regional qualifying events leading up to the all Indian Championships in which Pradeep Ramesh came out on top.

"His development of talent and style has been noticed on the global scene and it will be great to see Pradeep as the first ever participant from India at the World Red Bull Street Style Finals this September," explains Freestyle Football Federation President Daniel Wood.

Pradeep Ramesh is now officially the most talented freestyle footballer in India today!
