India U-22 win 4-0 again vs Delhi XI!

The India Under-22 squad in their second practice match defeated a combined Delhi XI 4-0 played at the Ambedkar Stadium today. Striker Holicharan Narzary scored a brace which included a scorching left-footer from the top of the box with Pritam Kotal and Lalrindika Ralte scoring the other goals.

The match was played in three halves of thirty minutes each as Head Coach Arthur Papas stayed content in trying out different combinations. "The intention was to field as many players as possible," Papas said after the match. "The boys have improved a lot in the nine days we have been together. We kept possession of the ball a lot better and at the same time we were able to switch from one end to the other with ease," Papas added.

Striker Jeje Lalpekhlua, who has been injured for a while, came on in the last 30 minutes. "The idea was to keep Jeje on the field for at least 30 minutes. This was his first match in six months," Papas commented.

The Indian squad leaves for Dubai for a seven-day exposure camp in Dubai on Thursday, June 14 where they would be playing two more practice matches. India open their AFC Under-22 Asian Championship qualifying campaign against Lebanon on June 23 in Muscat, Oman.
