FIFA World Rankings: INDIA drop to 167th

The world football governing body FIFA released the latest FIFA World Rankings earlier today in which India dropped a spot to 167th amongst the 209 ranked nations and territories, while within Asia India remain 31st amongst 46 nations in the rankings. India is 167th behind Vanuatu and Mauretania on 98 points, two less then last month.

Amongst the South Asian nations India are now second behind the Maldives (159th), ahead of Bangladesh (169th), Pakistan (170th), Nepal (174th), Afghanistan (189th), Sri Lanka (193th) and Bhutan (207th).

India this month lost their friendly against Palestine 2-4 in Kochi, but hope to do better in their 2014 AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers next month, which will be included in the next rankings.

Meanwhile there has been no changes amongst the top five of the FIFA World Rankings. World champions Spain (1,590 points) stay at the top ahead of Germany (1,437) and Argentina (1,281) with England (1,160) gaining a couple of spots with Italy (1,157) losing one.
