Through the 'Ji Le' campaign a friend Mahesh Reddy is trying to gather support for Team India ahead of their 2011 AFC Asian Cup appearance in the Qatari capital Doha in which our boys face tough competition from Australia, South Korea and Bahrain.
Under the tagline "Ji le - Living India's football dream" the campaigners are trying to create India's largest fan support football campaign. It is an interactive community driven exercise to garner support for Team India and messages of support can be left on the website or through Emails be it videos, photos or just test messages.
The campaign hopes to visit schools and colleges in the coming weeks to gather support for our boys ahead of their journey to Qatar. Even stars and former footballers will be approached for their messages of support.
Trying to explain the intention behind the campaign Mahesh Reddy said, "We just love football and our aim was to contribute to the overall development of the sport in India. This has brought in the urge amongst me and my team members to come up with this campaign. We wanted to start somewhere and we will only move ahead from here, as a matter of fact, we are also contemplating on being there in Qatar to cheer team India in January."
So be a part of the campaign! Support Team India!
