37th Kerala State Club Championship: Golden Threads FC champions!

Golden Threads FC are the new champions of the Kerala State Club Football Championship after a 12-11 penalty shootout victory against Kerala State Electricity Board. The 37th edition of the Kerala State Club Football Championship 2012 was played at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Palakkad from March 25 until today.

The match between Golden Threads FC and Kerala State Electricity Board had ended goalless with the match and championship having to be decided through a penalty shootout. And there first five kicks didn't bring any decisions forcing it to continue until finally KSEB missed.

The tournament saw the return of Kerala Police to active football after over a decade, while the Kerala Football Association scouts were on the lookout for talent who could represent Kerala in the upcoming Santosh Trophy.
