As I have written in my blog before German teenager Mario Goetze is one of the brightest young talent currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga. And as one would expect the young international Mario Goetze has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Now the first real bid has come in which club Borussia Dortmund have turned down outright. English Premier League side FC Arsenal had last week made a 40 Million Euros (appro. 35 Million Pound) bid for the BVB starlet which the club did not entertain as they say, Goetze is not for sale.
Borussia Dortmund won the German Bundesliga title last season with a young team which plays attractive, attacking football and they will want to build on that to be a force in German football in the years to come.
Especially an offer from Arsenal, who happen to be in the same group as Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League, is something which the Ruhr valley would not like to entertain.
And Goetze is at a stage of his young career where he needs to focus as his red card against Bayer 04 Leverkusen over the weekend showed even a young, cool headed player like him might not always be able to cope with pressure.
