Manchester Utd's Ji-Sung Park set for QPR move

Last season Queens Park Rangers FC just about retained their status in the English Premier League and now their owners Tony Fernandes and the Mittal family are working to establish the club in the top tier and build on last season.

Now QPR could be on the verge of signing a marquee player in South Korean Ji-Sung Park from Manchester United. The deal is set to be announced later today with the 31 year old moving to southwest London for an initial fee of around 2 Million Pounds with the fee potentially set to rise to upto 5 Million Pounds if QPR stay another year in the Premiership.

With young Japanese sensation Shinji Kagawa joining Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund, Park's position as a key asset for the Red Devils in their commercial push in Asia was weakened and after a season in which he didn't see so much action as earlier, it is time for Park to move on and set new goals.

Park has been a huge success at Manchester United since joining them in 2005 from PSV Eindhoven winning the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, four Premier League titles, two FA Cup trophies and three League Cup trophies.

At QPR, which is owned by Malaysian Tony Fernandes and the Mittal family from India they would hope that such a signing will help the clubs push towards success in the Asian markets.

On the transfer market Queens Park Rangers have so far been looking for experience by signing goalkeeper Robert Green (West Ham United), defender Ryan Nelsen (Tottenham Hotspur), midfielder Samba Diakité (AS Nancy) and striker Andy Johnson (Fulham FC) plus defender Fábio da Silva has been loaned from Manchester United.
