The disciplinary committee of the Asian Football Confederation met earlier this week and imposed fines and suspensions following recent violations of regulations in the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup. One of those cases was that of Salgaocar SC winger Ishfaq Ahmed, who had been send-off in the clubs sixth and final group stage match againest Neftchi FC in Uzbekistan on May 8.
Ishfaq Ahmed has been given a four match suspension for verbally abusing the Yemeni referee Al-Yarimi Muokhtar Saleh Ali, which the referee reported to the match commissioner. Ishfaq will carry the suspension with him to his new club East Bengal, if they play Asian competition next year as it is a personal fine and not one imposed on the club.
