Russia publically announce candidates for Head Coach job

The Russian Football Union (RFU) yesterday released a list of 13 coaches that it wants to speak to about the role of head coach of the Russian national football team after Dick Advocaat did not extend his contract which ended with the 2012 European Championships.

"The RFU officially would like to inform that it plans to hold talks with these specialists about one of them becoming the head coach of the Russian national team," the RFU said in a short statement on its own website.

Another coach that was on Russia's list Roberto Mancini renewed his contract with Manchester City on Monday until 2017 leaving him out of the race to become Russia's new coach with the RFU said to favour a foreign rather then a local Russian coach.

- Marcello Lippi (Italian, ex-Italy & Juventus)

- Valery Nepomniaschy

- Nikolai Pisarev

- Harry Redknapp (English, ex-Tottenham & Portsmouth)

- Yuri Semin
