66th Santosh Trophy: Assam name final squad

The Assam Football Association has named their final 20 players squad for the 66th edition of the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy which will be played from May 11 to 27 across Orissa. The selection trials were held at the Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon from April 20 onwards with close to 50 players taking part.

The team will be coached by Tasen Boro with midfielder Monoj Boro has been named captain of Assam, while F. Wary was named as the vice-captain.

Assam have been drawn in the preliminary round Cluster VII along with Haryana, Sikkim and Daman&Diu playing their matches on May 12 (vs Sikkim), May 14 (vs Daman&Diu) and May 16 (vs Haryana).
