Euro2012: Netherlands announce final squad

Bert van Marwijk, the coach of the Netherlands, yesterday named his final 23 player squad for the 2012 European Championships in Poland and the Ukraine. The Netherlands plays Denmark, Germany and Portugal in Group B of the tournament that runs from June 8 to July 1.

Van Marwijk had originally named a 36 player strong probables squad, then cut it down to 27 players and now announced the final three goalkeepers and 20 outfield players with the big surprises being teenager Jetro Willems and 'Player of Indian origin' Luciano Narsingh making it into the squad.

Van Marwijk dropped Ajax players Vurnon Anita and Siem de Jong, PSV winger Jeremain Lens and promising young AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Maher from the squad he announced yesterday, but said that these four players could leave the camp with their heads held high.
