66th Santosh Trophy: Defending champions Bengal name squad

The Indian Football Association (West Bengal) today announced their final 20 players squad for the 66th edition of the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy which is being played from May 11 to 27 across Orissa. The IFA had held trials in Kolkata to select their state team.

Former India striker Tarif Ahmed has been named captain of the defending champions West Bengal state team, while Shabbir Ali has been once more appointed by the IFA as the coach of the Bengal team.

West Bengal have been drawn in the quarterfinal league Group A along with Punjab, Cluster-II winner and Cluster-IV winner playing their matches on May 18 (vs Cluster-IV winner), on May 20 (vs Cluster-II winner) and May 22 (vs Punjab).
