India Under-22 probables arrive in New Delhi for camp

The India Under-22 probables for the Under-22 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers landed in New Delhi on Friday morning. Chief Coach Arthur Papas who took charge of the team opted for an evening swimming pool session due to the travel and hot weather in the capital. New chief coach Arthur Papas also had a meeting with the boys besides a detailed one with the support staff to prepare the coming days.

"We will decide on the training sessions as we progress. We need to keep in mind the weather. It’s very warm and hot," Arthur Papas said.

The boys had earlier assembled in Bangalore on May 15 and went through a series of physical tests. Besides the training sessions, they also played six friendly matches against top-division local Bangalore clubs and won all of them.

The probables squad would be having their first training session at the Ambedkar Stadium on Saturday, June 2 at 6.15 am.

The AIFF is working on plans of having a camp either in Dubai or Doha ahead of travelling to Oman for the qualifiers. If Dubai is the destination of the camp, then a match against Diego Maradona coached Al Wasl could be on the cards for the young Indians.
