FIFA World Rankings: India remain 142nd

World football governing body FIFA today released the latest FIFA 'Coca-Cola' World Rankings and INDIA remain 142nd amongst 208 ranked football nations. India now has 132 points, 13 less then last month, but their 1-9 hammering against Kuwait and the 0-5 defeat against the United Arab Emirates had little effect on the rankings as these were only international friendlies and most team from around the world lost points in the rankings.

India remain 23rd amongst the 46 ranked Asian nations. India is now joint 142nd with Caribbean island state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (just as info: with a population of 117.200) sandwiched amongst African nation Chad as 141st and Malaysia at 144.

India's 2011 AFC Asian Cup opponents all lost points and spots in the rankings. Australia remain number one in Asia but are now 26th (lose -1 place) in the world, South Korea remain Asian number 3 but also lose a spot in the global rankings to be 40th, while Bahrain are now seventh in Asia, down behind China who move past them, and lose six spots to be 93rd in the world.

Amongst the top global five there has been only one change. As world champions Spain remain top and runners-up the Netherlands are two, Germany are now the new third switching places with Brazil, while Argentina complete the top five.
