Klose signs for Lazio Roma

German international striker Miroslav Klose has signed a two year contract with Serie A side Lazio Roma which is set to earn him around 2 Million Euros per season. This signature ends weeks of speculation about Klose's future. He was in Rome to discuss details and then signed the contract before he left for his holiday's and will be unvailed as a Biancocelesti player later this month.

Today happens to be Klose's 33rd birthday and he can now celebrate it knowing that he has found a new club.

"Miroslav Klose is a Lazio player," read a statement on Lazio's official website late on Wednesday. "The president, the staff and all the fans would like to wish him many happy returns."

Klose is the fourth German to join Lazio after fellow countrymen Karl-Heinz Riedle, Thomas Doll and Thomas Hitzlsperger.

"I welcome the news! It's good for him if he plays at a club where he is used regularly again," said Germany coach Joachim Loew, with Klose reported to have secured a guarantee of first-team football at Lazio.

Over the last few weeks when it became clear that Klose could be leaving Bayern Munich a number of European clubs have shown interest in him like Sain's FC Valencia, Turkey's Galatasaray and English Premier League sides FC Everton and Norwich City.

Klose is one of the most prolific strikers in World Cup history as he has scored 14 goals in three tournament, only behind Brazilian Ronaldo as joint second with Gerd Mueller.

Klose has now 61 goals in 109 international appearances for Germany, while he wants to fulfil his dream of playing next years 2012 European Championships in the country of his birth, Poland. But Klose has even not ruled out of continuing to play until the 2014 FIFA World Cup to try and beat Ronaldo's record.
