The Indian national Under-23 team coach Desmond Bulpin has cut down from his 25 probables to the final 18 boys who will travel to Qatar to face them in the first leg away tie in the 2012 London Olympics - Asian Round 2 qualifiers. Raju Eknath Gaekwad has been named as the Under-23 captain for these matches.
The India Under-23 have been given a tough draw as our side will have to face Gulf nation Qatar home-and-away on June 19 and June 23 to make it into the group stage. In the first round India had beaten neighbours Myanmar 3-2 on aggregate in a home-and-away tie.
Left out from the final squad were Jagroop Singh, Ravi Kumar, R. Vishal Kumar, Lalrozama Fenai, Inderpreet Singh, Ongnam Milan Singh, Jagtar Singh; all boys from the Indian Arrows. It seems coach Bulpin has gone in for some experience ahead of the matches against Qatar.
