India Women footballers sweat it out in Lucknow

Forty-three women footballers are sweating it out at the National Training Camp in the Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow for the preparation of three International Friendlies to be played in Bahrain. The campers under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Mohammad Shahid Jabbar started the camp on the high note while undergoing various mental and physical conditioning drills.

"We decided to step up the momentum by undergoing various training drills for the players to acclimatise. We will step up intensity of training as the camp progresses," Jabbar said.

"This is an opportunity for all the girls to prove themselves in an Alien territory. We are not taking anything lightly," Jabbar added.

It has often been reported that the Indian women's national football team get limited exposure except official assignments like Asian Cup and Olympic qualifiers besides now having to play the SAFF Cup for Women.
