India Women remain 54th in FIFA World Rankings

The world football governing body released the latest FIFA Women's World Rankings earlier today in which our India Women remain 54th in the world amongst 132 ranked nations. India now have 1438 points, five more then last month.

Amongst the 23 ranked Asian nations our India Women are 11th. Our opponents in the ongoing three match series Bahrain are ranked 75th in the world and 15th in Asia.

It is not clear if the first couple of matches of the three match Bahrain vs India series have been included in the rankings. On September 17 India had won 2-1, while on September 20 Bahrain had won 2-0, while today the third and final match will be played.

In the women's game the World Cup runners-up United States of America remain top of the rankings ahead of Germany, Brazil, World Cup winners Japan and Sweden.
