66th Santosh Trophy: Meghalaya name final squad

The Meghalaya Football Association has named their final 20 players squad for the 66th edition of the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy which will be played from May 11 to 27 across Orissa. The MFA had held open trials to select their state team.

Former Shillong Lajong FC midfielder Niwan-O-Gathphoh has been named captain of the Meghalaya state team, which is a combination of youth and experience from sides who have played I-League Division 2 this season.

L. Darlong has been appointed by the Meghalaya FA as the coach of the Meghalaya state team, who have been drawn in the preliminary round Cluster III along with Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh and Pondicherry playing their matches on May 11 (vs Pondicherry), May 13 (vs Madhya Pradesh) and May 15 (vs Chandigarh).
