Dempo SC start pre-season training today

For former I-League champions Dempo SC pre-season is set to kick-off today with training at the Mira Mar beach. The club will be without coach Armando Colaco, who is currently coaching Team India and their national team players; but still assistant coach Mauricio Afonso has a formidable squad to fall back on.

It seems to have become normal for Dempo SC to start pre-season training without their Indian internationals, only this time also their usual foreign recruits in Roberto Mendes Silva and Ranty Martins Soleye won't be with the team as they have left the club.

The club has done some signings in bringing in players for different positions like Vasco SC trio Savio Fernandes, Koko Sakibo and Joy Ferrao plus defender Rowilson Rodrigues (Churchill Brothers SC) and striker P.K. Anil Kumar (Viva Kerala). A number of youngsters have also been given a chance to practice with the senior team and move up from the under-20 team if they can impress in training and the Goa Pro League.
