Armando Colaco will try and play positive football with Team India. This is what the Dempo SC coach and secretary has promised to try and do while he is in-charge of Team India as there will be pressure on India's most successful club coach of the last few years to deliver.
Armando's last commitment with Dempo SC is on June 1 in the I-League and then he is set to give the India probables a 10 to 14 day rest before he assembles the players for the first time. But Armando would travel to Denmark to visit FC Midtjylland, Dempo's new technical/youth development partner before he returns to India in the second week of June. When the probables will be named isn't clear yet.
With the AIFF deciding to host India's home match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, which was refurbished for the 2010 Commonwealth Games; it looks likely that it would hold its local preparatory camp in the capital.
Armando is also set to make some changes to the players he is set to call-up for the probables camp. Rumours say that captain Baichung Bhutia, defender Surkumar Singh, Anwar and N.S.Manju besides striker Abhishek Yadav could be left out of the camp besides some other seasoned players.
Armando has seen nearly all players in the I-League this year and could be calling up own Dempo players in Valeriano Rebello, Debabrata Roy and Peter Carvalho; East Bengal's Naoba Singh, Mehtab Hussain and Harmanjot Singh Khabra; Salgaocar SC's Francis Fernandes, Cajetan Fernandes and Gilbert Oliveira; and Viva Kerala's P.K. Anil Kumar.
The trio from the Indian Arrows Raju Gaikwad, Jewel Sheikh Raja and Jeje Lalpekhlua are set for another call-up after their strong performances in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers.
