Jharkhand announce Santosh Trophy squad

The Jharkhand Football Association has finalised the state's 20 member squad for the upcoming 65th Santosh Trophy in Assam. Young Tata Football Academy defender Irfan Khan has been named the state captain, which will be coached by J. Behera.

Jharkhand hope for a better show then in the last few years, but once more they will go into the Santosh Trophy with a rather inexperienced side though eight boys from TFA will be there, but many young players from the districts are in the squad for whom this will be a new experience altogether.

The 65th edition of the Santosh Trophy will be held from May 6 to 30 across Assam in the seven cities of Guwahati, Nagaon, Mangaldoi, Tinsukia, Shivsagar, Kokrajhar and Bongalgaon. In this years edition Jharkhand have been placed in Cluster 4 along with Kerala, Jammu&Kashmir, Chandigarh in the preliminary stage.
