Day of Finals: UEFA Champions League vs IPL4

Today is Saturday, May 28 - a big day in sports, then it is the day of two big finals. Early on it will be the final of the fourth edition of Cricket's Indian Premier League in Chennai, then in the evening it will be the final of Football's UEFA Champions League in London. While in the IPL final defending champions Chennai Super Kings will face the Bangalore Royal Challengers, it will be a clash between FC Barcelona against Manchester United at Wembley later.

I have read a number interesting articles from around the world which have stated that while the world can't await the Barca vs Man Utd clash to happen only India was awaiting the winners of IPL4. But is that really true??? Are Indians only following the IPL and its outcome???

I have spoken to friends and contacts to find out more about this issue. The feedback is rather mixed as I did not only speak to football friends, then otherwise one could call this unofficial questioning biased. And I didn't want it to be like that...

I got some really interesting feedback, so I thought of sharing it with you.

A lot of people are looking forward to a Super Saturday in Sports, meaning they will be watching both the finals and often they said on a stretch, while others as one would expect would either watch the IPL or Champions League final.

The most interesting answer came from someone who said that the IPL final was the Indian version of the Super Bowl in American Football, but that the UEFA Champions League final was bigger then it is a global sporting event. And that really sums up the scenario then though the IPL final will have millions watching, the final of the UEFA Champions League will be the most watched football match of the season, especially with sides like Barca and Man Utd facing each other.

But then there are others who say they will be more glued to the television during the qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1 or watch the Tennis from Roland Garros in Paris. Plenty of sporting options this Saturday...

In India the UEFA Champions League final will be shown live on Ten Action+ from 10.30 IST onwards.

What will you be watching both finals? Only the UEFA Champions League finals? Or only the IPL Final? Maybe even none???
