I-League 2 - Round 4: Lajong now top

The fourth Round of matches of the 2nd Division I-League 2010/11 were played on May 4/5 in Shillong. Lajong are now top of the league with 10 points after beating league leaders Vasco SC, who are second with nine points.

04-May-2011: Mohammedan Sporting Club 0-1 (0-1) United Sikkim FC
United Sikkim FC scored their first win in the final phase of the 2nd Division I-League, a crucial 1-0 win against Mohammedan Sporting Club which keeps them in the promotion race. While USFC move to six points from four matches, Mohammedan Sporting stay on three points from the same number of games with their chances of promotion diminishing,
USFC captain John D. Meyongar from Liberia scored the only goal of the match in the 39th minute, while Mohammedan Sporting lost Mumtaz Akhtar in the second session due to a red card.

04-May-2011: Ar-Hima FC 0-2 (0-2) Sporting Clube de Goa
Sporting Clube de Goa are back in the promotion race after their first win, a 2-0 against local side Ar-Hima FC. Sporting Clube de Goa moved to four points from four matches, while Ar-Hima FC stay on six points also from four games.
The Goans got onto the score-sheet early with Lairenjam Bisheshwor Singh giving them a 12th minute lead while Jovel Martins doubled the lead in the 22nd minute. The local side did try to get back into the match, but Ar-Hima FC could not score on this day.

05-May-2011: Shillong Lajong FC 2-1 (1-0) Vasco SC
In a top of the table clash Shillong Lajong FC beat Vasco 2-1 to go top in the final round of the 2nd Division I-League. Lajong now have 10 points from four matches, while Vasco stay on nine from the same number of games.
The local side where the better of the two sides, but they had to wait until injury time of the first session when striker Saikhohao Tuboi gave them the lead off a Mashangva Genius Zenith cross. Vasco came back strongly in the second session and got the equaliser through Joy Ferrao in the 61st minute, but soon thereafter the Goans were reduced to 10 men when goalkeeper Milagrio Medeira received his marching orders for handling the ball outside the 18 yard box. This gave Lajong the final chance for a push to win and they got the winner in the 86th minute of Aibor Khonjee from another Mashangva Genius Zenith cross.

05-May-2011: Southern Samity - Royal Wahingdoh FC
Match abandoned due to heavy rains in Shillong, to be now played on May 12.
