FIFA World Rankings: INDIA gain 24 spots rise to 143rd!

The world football governing body FIFA released the latest FIFA World Rankings earlier today in which India gained a personal record 24 spots to be 143rd amongst the 209 ranked nations and territories, while within Asia India moved into 25th place amongst 46 nations in the rankings. India is 143rd behind Barbados and Gambia on 177 points, 79 more then last month.

Amongst the South Asian nations India continue to be second behind new top side Afghanistan (141st) but ahead of Bangladesh (157th), the Maldives (161st), Pakistan (171st), Sri Lanka (173rd), Nepal (175th) and Bhutan (207th).

India this month gained that many points due to their wins against Chinese Taipei and Guam in the qualifiers for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, but lost vital points due to their loss to Myanmar.

Meanwhile there has been no changes amongst the top five of the FIFA World Rankings. World champions Spain (1,610 points) stay at the top ahead of Germany (1,473), Argentina (1,309), England (1,174) and Italy (1,173).
