NDTV VIDEO: Sunil Chhetri - My dream has come true

After the press conference yesterday evening Sunil Chhetri along with his agent Yogesh Joshee and Ashok Rajgopal from Football One visited the NDTV studios in New Delhi, where Sunil Chhetri described his going to Portugal to play as being in a different league altogether. Chhetri noted that joining Sporting Lisbon would be much more of an achievement than he had managed till now.

NDTV VIDEO: SCP/Sunil Chhetri press conference

A press conference was held earlier today in New Delhi to announce the signing of Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri by Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal. Sunil joins their 'B' team, who play in the second tier in Portugal and if he can prove himself, then more is possible.

VIDEO: Bangalore Footballer collapses at stadium; no ambulence present

The Bangalore Football Stadium witnessed a tragedy yesterday as 23 year old Venkatesh Narayan collapsed during a Bangalore First Division league match for his team Bangalore MARS. With no medical help or ambulance present his team mates took him in an autorickshaw to a nearby hospital, but he was brought dead on arrival.

VIDEO: Anglian investment into Shillong Lajong FC

News television channel NDTV has done a story on the investment by Anglian Holding in Shillong Lajong FC after they had earlier bought a stake in Danish second division side FC Vestsjælland. This is the first time an NRI has invested in Football clubs on two different continents and thereby is creating a bi-directional pipeline for players, coaching and sporting infrastructure.

VIDEO: Sunil Chhetri/Ranbir Kapoor promote Football

As part of the NDTV Nirmal Liftstyle 'Marks for Sports' campaign Indian international footballer Sunil Chhetri and Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor came together earlier today at the SRCC College ground in New Delhi.

It is an effort by NDTV to infuse youngsters with the culture of sports and across the day they have highlighted many different sports. Amongst these was also football with Sunil and Ranbir the duo there to speak about it.

VIDEO: A girl from a Bihar village

NDTV did a nice story on 16-year-old Shivanjali Singh, who is like any other village girl in Bihar's Begusarai district. But once she steps on to the football field, she's entirely transformed. This young girl has represented Bihar and India at the Under-19 level, and now aspires to lead India one day at the international level.

But she's not alone. In her village, Barauni Flag, a total of 11 girls have represented clubs or teams at the national level - no mean achievement for a village that isn't familiar with taking pride in its girls.
