VIDEOs: Footballers Model at Kolkata Fashion Week

On Saturday night five footballer in Mehtab Hossain, Syed Rahim Nabi, Tolgay Ozbey, Odafe Onyeka Okolie and ex-goalkeeper Kalyan Chaubey scorched the ramp at the Kolkata Fashion Week. The quintett did a good job and got a lot of praise in their assignment as models.

VIDEO: Tolgay visits East Bengal to get token & final clearance

The summer drama of the Tolgay Ozbey transfer from East Bengal Club to Mohun Bagan AC is now over. The Australian striker visited the East Bengal club tent yesterday to pick-up the token, get even a momento and then left as a relieved footballer. Here the XtraTime report on the happenings in Kolkata.

Mohun Bagan AC squad for the 2012/13 season

Asia's oldest football club Mohun Bagan AC has assembled a 33 players strong squad for the 2012/13 season. After two trophy-less seasons the green-and-maroon will look to add to their collection of titles.

The team will be guided by new coach Santosh Kashyap, who has a good squad at his disposal with possibly the most potent attack led by the combine of Odafe Onyeka Okolie and Tolgay Ozbey.

Unlike in the last few seasons the club has also brought in some reinforcements for their defence and midfield, which the management would hope can supplement their strong attack.

IFA finds Tolgay guilty of misconduct, imposes huge fine

After weeks of uncertainly the Indian Football Association (West Bengal) Players' Status Committee has given its verdict in the Tolgay Ozbey case. The committee found the Australian striker guilty of professional misconduct and he has been asked to pay one month's salary and a fine of Rs 500,000 (5 lakh) in order to get a formal release from East Bengal Club.

The IFA Players' Status Committee has given both sides 72 hours to respond to the order otherwise it would be null and void. Both sides will consult lawyers before getting back to the IFA.

The IFA took this decision because they say it is proven that Tolgay first wanted to stay with East Bengal and then signed for archrivals Mohun Bagan, which is the cause for this whole transfer confusion.

To end the matter Tolgay has been asked to pay one month's salary (US$ 18,450, last seasons monthly salary) to East Bengal Club via the IFA and send a letter of apology to both his former club and the IFA after which East Bengal will have to return the token.

Further the IFA will fine Tolgay Ozbey of Rs 500,000 which would go to the IFA players benevolent fund.

East Bengal Club on their side have been asked to withdraw the case against the Australian at a Kolkata civil court and return the token to the parent body.

If both sides agree, then Tolgay would be a free players and could then sign for Mohun Bagan; but as this whole story has unfolded there might be more twists and turns waiting to happen before it finally ends.

AIFF Disciplinary Committee fines Tolgay Ozbey

The Disciplinary Committee of the All India Football Federation met in Goa on Thursday to discuss the altercation which took place around a training session of East Bengal Club at the Nehru Stadium ahead of their match against Sporting Clube de Goa on December 5, 2011.

The red-and-golds Australian striker Tolgay Ozbey was fined Rs 50,000 for an altercation with the ground supervisor Raju Adpaikar who earlier had gotten into an argument with East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan about the teams training session.

The Committee gave a patient hearing to East Bengal manager Swapan Bal, who represented Tolgay Ozbey; Raju Adpaikar (Senior Supervisor of Sports Authority of Goa) and Goa Football Association General Secretary Mr. Alberto Colaco, General Secretary before reaching its decision.

FPAI Announces nominations for "Fans' Player of the Year 2011"

The Football Players’ Association of India (FPAI) has announced the nominations for the "Fans' Player of the Year 2011" for the third FPAI Indian Football Awards.

The players have been nominated for their strong performances for their respective clubs in the I-League in the 2010/11 season. Now the Indian football fans have the chance to chose their "Fans' Player of the Year 2011". The winner will be announced at the FPAI Indian Football Awards.

The players who have been named as the top five candidates all had a great season. There are two players each from champions Salgaocar SC and runners-up East Bengal Club, while one of the nominees plays for Dempo SC.
